Innovative concepts

Bureau Stroming stands out with innovative, practical concepts integrating nature development with societal functions.

Concepts of Stroming

Collaborating closely with our clients and partners, we develop and visualize innovative, nature-based concepts. Successful concepts of Stroming include ‘Living Rivers’, ‘Natural climate buffers’ and ‘Upper catchment water retention. These concepts combine societal challenges such as flood safety, climate adaptation, housing, agriculture and sustainable land use with nature development. Moreover, we're pioneering new approaches to introduce nature into urban environments.

Daphne Willems (director of Stroming):

‘I envision the Stroming- concepts and projects as connectors: connecting people and organisations, even when the interest of stakeholders are contradictory. This resonates perfectly with me as a person. I thrive to connect people, organisations, nature and societal challenges.’

A Stroming concept consists of:

  • A clearly described desired transformation
  • A visual expression of the envisioned transformation
  • A robust argumentation to explain why the transformation is essential
  • A feasible and affordable
  • A course for action
  • And it receives local support
